Lizzy escapes with Georgie to Paris after running away from both Mannix and Theo - half brothers who both want her. Mannix wants to possess her and dominate her and cause her tremendous pain. Theo wants to save her, let her soar and be her Superman. In Paris, Mannix's drug dealer catches up with them and shoots at them after Wulf and Rae's civil wedding reception. I can't say I liked all the books in this series. However, taken as a whole I loved them. I loved the character development, especially Lizzy and Theo. The BDSM got to be a little much but as a part of the plot it was a necessary evil. Read this series and enjoy. It does have an HEA at the end.
I started my journey with these stories in the Red Hot Obsessions Box Set. It starts with Rae's story. I was hooked on the story. I really enjoyed this book. You won't be disappointed. Lizzy and Theo are so hot together. I like that Rae, Wulf and all the others are in this story too. I was torn up with Dieter and Noah. I hope Dieter finds happiness and I don't want anything bad to happen to Noah. I don't want to give to much of the story away. Thank you Blair for another great story.
I've just finished reading both the Rae series and then the Lizzy series. If anything, I loved the Lizzy series even more than the first. Characters are all complex and interesting. The story is expertly told and keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat. The sex scenes vary from intense BDSM, to deeply moving, very hot sex. I loved it all. My only complaint is that I wish it was not drawn out into a series, each one leading into the next, and requiring the next for resolution. This is the only reason that I did not give the series a five star rating.
Finished reading Wulf and Rae's stories and immediately began with Lizzy and Theo. Can't wait for Georgie. I am still trying to catch my breath. I reading non-stop everyday. I loved watching the relationships develop, the sweet and sexy scenes and most of all the suspense of what was going to happen next. Blair Babylon has a wonderful writing style. I just discovered her and can't wait to read more. I knew I needed to stop and write a review in hopes that others might be eager to read. Best decision you'll make.
I almost didn't go on to purchase the rest of this series, not because it wasn't an exciting plot with great characters, but rather because Lizzy's story was so heartbreaking I was afraid for her, and not sure I wanted to know what came next.
Now that may sound silly, but it's not an easy emotion to evoke in an erotic romance novel. Sex sells, so why bother to bring your characters to such life; yet that's exactly was the author did, and kudos to Babylon for taking the time to do so.
I can now go on to say that I have read all the episodes of Lizzy's story and I am delighted that I carried on. Each book takes you deeper into Lizzy, her story, more in-depth characters and some pretty suspenseful moments along the way.
I breezed through this book in less than a day. It was full of action and intrigue, and some surprising twists. Whilst there was still the prerequisite steamy sex, it was written really well with just the right amount of sensuality and graphic-ness, without being too much.
This was a really good ending to Lizzy's story, with most questions answered. I do wonder about Noah though. I wonder if there is going to be book about him to wrap up the questions left out there. I was impressed with the quality of the prose, and how easily it flowed. I liked that we got POV 's from Rae and Wulf's in this book as well. I added to Lizzy's story and I felt it was important.
Overall, well worth reading to cap out this particular set of books in this series. These books are so far out of my usual reading, that I'm surprised that I got so invested in the characters of Rae and now Lizzy. I felt I was there in the pages of the book living with them. I do love it when I can truly immerse myself in a book to forget about the real world. Now I'm off to get in touch with Georgie, to round out the three friends.
This worthy 4 star conclusion to the love story of Theo and Lizzy is chock full of action, from kidnappings to assassination attempts to sibling showdowns to surprise parent encounters to big big social events to big big secrets revealed. Will Theo commit to pulling out all the stops in building his case for Lizzy's love, or will doubt crumble him? Will Lizzy get another chance to explain herself, or will fear stop her cold? So many barriers to love finding a way!
Burning Bright is also chock full of the delicious warmth and intimacy and fulfillment I so missed in the last book about Lizzy. All of our favorite couples from previous books appear again as well, and keep the reader enthralled with their "lifestyles of the rich and famous" in hiding and out. What a rich fantasy world Blair Babylon has created for us! I will be very sad to see this 5 star series end. BTW, when will we get to read the stories of Flicka and Maxence? Maxence is after all the most enigmatic of all Ms. Babylon's Billionaires in Disguise characters.
